How To Clean Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered Wood Flooring has a very unique build. It’s all natural wood that is constructed with a high-quality plywood core with only a thin layer of hardwood flooring on top. It’s essential to maintain Engineered Wood Flooring so you get the longest life-span from it.
As always, first thing you always want to do regularly is sweeping and vacuuming your flooring, less foot traffic can be swept about once a week, while high traffic is everyday or every other day.
Now we can dive right into mopping. Grab a damp mop, I always recommend microfiber mops. Your mop needs to be damp enough that it doesn’t create standing water on the floor. Engineered Hardwood is more water-resistant than solid hardwood flooring but moisture and wood is never a good idea to begin with. For using a liquid cleaner I recommend using a cleaner that was manufactured by the company who made the floor just to prevent any type of chemicals that could destroy your flooring. Do NOT use products designed for tile, vinyl or laminate flooring.
There is not much more you can do when it comes to cleaning or deep cleaning your flooring after everything I listed. Just make sure that you stay away from any abrasive cleaning brushes. No steam cleaning. No vinegar or ammonia. Just make sure you clean up all spills as soon as you can.
